AEIS (Primary) Admissions & Coaching
The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for international students seeking admission to Primary 2 to 5 in the following academic year. The AEIS typically takes place in September, and students can start in January the following year.
During this admissions exercise, international students:
Apply to take the relevant AEIS test
Complete required CEQ test, obtain qualifying CES score, and submit application via MOE online portal in July.
Take the AEIS test
Sit for the centralized AEIS-Primary Mathematics examination in Singapore in September or October.
Receive their admissions outcome
Check school placement outcome in December, report to posted school, and commence classes in January.
Step-by-Step Guide for International Applicants
Follow the essential steps below to ensure your child meets all eligibility requirements, exam deadlines, and admission milestones.
Apply for and take CEQ test
Before applying for the AEIS-Primary, international students must take the relevant Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) test run by Cambridge Assessment English (CAE).
Receive CEQ test result
Students must meet or exceed the required Cambridge English Scale (CES) score in the CEQ test before submitting an AEIS application. Your CEQ result must be available during the AEIS registration period. The official Statement of Results must be uploaded as supporting documents for the registration of the AEIS-Primary Mathematics test.
Apply to take AEIS-Primary Mathematics test
If your child has reached the required CES score in the CEQ test, they are eligible to apply for the relevant AEIS Mathematics test. Submit the online application on the Ministry of Education (MOE) website during the July application window.
Receive entry proof
Once your online application is reviewed and payment is successfully verified, you will receive an official notification email informing you when to download and print the Entry Proof from the candidate portal.
Take AEIS-Primary Mathematics test
Sit for the centralized AEIS-Primary Mathematics examination at the assigned test venue in Singapore during September or October. Students must bring their Entry Proof, passport, and approved stationery.
December 2025 – Release of outcome
The release of the admissions outcome takes place in December. Parents can check the school posting result directly on the MOE official portal using their child's passport number or FIN.
Report to school
Successful applicants must report to their posted Singapore mainstream primary school within the stipulated reporting period in December. School registration and administrative briefings will take place.
January 2026 – Start school
Successful applicants officially commence their academic journey at their assigned Singapore primary school at the start of the academic year in January.
